Load Stone × Ichabod × Flickr

Back in 2010 and 2011, when Flickr was at its peak, Load Stone was uploading tons of photos daily. I remember scrolling through page after page, eagerly hoping to find something new. I even installed an endless scroll plugin, similar to Tumblr, to make the process easier. Before I knew it, he had reached the milestone of 1 million photos, and he kept going, capturing every car that passed through the Neenah Yard.

As Flickr began to lose its users to Instagram, the platform underwent some changes. Yahoo sold the company, and the new owners did away with free Pro accounts and set limits. To this day, I’m reminded of my 1,000 photo limit and the possibility of my photos being deleted.

Load Stone’s collection went from 1 million to 1,000 photos, making it much easier to scroll through his entire account. He has a great selection of Ichabod freights from when they first hit the lines. Recently, I went through his account and found his impressive collection of Ichabod photos, which I have compiled into a fresh gallery for you to enjoy. Freight number 2,000 was an early milestone in his career, and it’s amazing to think about how many he was putting out around that time.
